What's with the Foundation

The Graham Marsh Junior Golf Foundation and Golf WA are in discussions regarding the future of the foundation. Rumours are rife that the foundation may be seeing its final days and many involved in WA junior golf are wondering what will become of the programme that has developed numerous outstanding young golfers.
From what many stakeholders know, it is merely a branding exercise bringing the foundation under the management of Golf WA. It would be a relief that there will be no repercussions on the programme.
This will ensure that junior golfers in the state will be well looked after.

Young ones

You may be keen to know how good are the best young golfers in Australia? Well, I can only speak primarily in Western Australia as there is where I am based at. In saying so, I have two children, one 5 years old and the other 8, participating competitively and been doing very well at the state foundation tournaments. To see, how the best are doing, please go to the Graham March Junior Golf Foundation site. You may be impressed with some of the scores these youngsters churn out.

You may notice a 14 year old girl by the name MinJee Lee who trains at Melville Glades Golf Club and Murdoch Pines Driving Range playing with the big names at this year's Australian Open and ANZ Ladies Masters. As I am writing this, she is amongst the leaders at the latter with a score of 8 under!! Ahead of even some of the best golfers in the world such as Karrie Webb and Yannie Tseng who is now world number 3!
If that is not impressive, you tell me what is.

Check out some of the future of golf at some of the golf clubs and driving ranges in WA. You never know how far these kids will go.

Murdoch Pines Mini Golf and Driving Range

I have lived south of the river area in Perth over the last decade or so. Being a golfing enthusiast, I have always traveled between 15 - 30 minutes just to hit some balls somewhere at South Perth or off the Roe Highway. Great driving ranges, but it would have been nice to find somewhere closer to home ie the City of Melville area.

Then a friend told me about this gem of a place called Murdoch Pines Mini Golf and Driving Range located off Bibra Lake. Excellent facilities with top class practice putting green, chipping green, grass range and matts. The owner and maintenance staff are extremely friendly.

Speaking of friendly, there is also an 18 hole mini golf adventure world. Kids love it. Mums love it. Tiger Woods wannabe dads love it!

Go check it out at www.murdochgolf.com.au and discover this gem for yourself.

Nice :)
